Coastal Cleanup Day

Hosted by Heal the Bay and the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors and bringing out over 14,000 volunteers, Coastal Cleanup Day is one of the largest volunteer day projects on the planet. Volunteers in Los Angeles County typically collect tens of thousands of pounds of trash and recyclables during a three-hour period. By filling out the trash “data cards” during the cleanup, volunteers are helping identify and stop polluters in the future. You can also help keep beaches clean the third Saturday of every month at a Nothin’ but Sand Beach Cleanup.
